Currently working on adapting the Smoke2EXR coding to be able to convert raw MRI data to make it available in Cycles and Eevee for rendering. Getting close - I'll post more details once I've ironed out the remaining flaws. For now, here's a teaser image ;-)
Varying the Mapping Z-coordinate views each 'slice' so it should only be a small step to render as a volumetric. I'll first render as-is to see the outer surface of the head, then I'll see how I can mask out sections to hopefully isolate different elements (eg, the brain) to render as a 3D volume using Eevee.
