I work in IT and love Blender. I've always loved maths and the patterns and complexity that can result from the simplest of calculations (think of the Mandelbrot set). When I started it would take hours to produce a single fractal image on the computers I had available at the time. Now we can explore in real time using tools such as Blender on a basic laptop - although I would like a more capable PC with decent GPU one day...
